There are 4 pounds that I lose, then gain, then lose then gain.  It's frustrating AND I know my doctor is going to think I'm not doing anything to lose! Granted, I'm not always super careful with what I eat, but I've been trying to do better.  Even going to the gym doesn't seem to do anything. Ugh.  Of course, I haven't been going as regularly as I used to, but I thought I'd at least see a little difference by now. (I recommend that site, by the way. You enter the food, and it keeps a running total of both your calories and your nutrition. Surprisingly, most days my nutrition is grade A).&lt;br /&gt;lunch: big salad with Wishbone Ranch Salad spritzers (I love those) and Coke Zero&lt;br /&gt;snack: cashews, but still &lt;500 calories for the day so far&lt;br /&gt;supper: potato wedges (not great, but I figured I had the calories to spare.. and I would have except...)&lt;br /&gt;when I went home after Brownies, Jon told me he had a Hot Pocket for me. I thought, yum, hot pocket. Turned out it was 600+ calories! They concur that I should be aiming for 1200 a day. It's only been breakfast, but I have over half of my daily calorie allotment. Not good. It was the bagel with cream cheese. I also had a banana and a tangerine.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;lunch was a small apple and a salad-- takes me up to 749, which means supper has to be 451 or below. I can manage that. I'm 2 weeks into the diet....one contest is 8 weeks and one is 16 weeks.   The 8 week one is 25% done.   I had lost, on paper, about 17 .lbs.   I think I have some tough competition, because there was another man who had lost something similar. I can do Hanukkah titles!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;breakfast: oatmeal, soy milk, Metamucil&lt;br /&gt;snack: peanuts&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today is my 3rd work Christmas party. I won't be able to eat much there. I know there are supposed to be some crudites at least.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;lunch: I partook of everything. I decided it would be better not to hurt anyone's feelings by not eating their food. Tis a strategy that will hurt me in the holiday season, but that just means I'll have to be extra-vigilant at other times. It was chicken pot pie, turkey, celery with cream cheese, buffalo chili and cookies.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;supper: scallops and whole wheat pasta and peas. I ate a bit too much of it, but it was heart-healthy stuff at least.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;exercise: jogged for 30 minutes while watching the Sing-Off. It's about $10 a jug at GNC.   It is a concentrated type of Psillium (sp?) Fiber, with is the soluble fiber that makes taking Metamucil worth it for lowering cholesterol.
